Overview

Forest Grove School has been focusing on improving mathematical literacy through the use of math journaling. All classrooms have created math walls to display math vocabulary, strategies and pictorial concepts.  The math walls provide concepts for students to refer to when solving problems in journaling.  Teachers and students have incorporated the use of document cameras to display math journals.  The cameras have also been useful as a tool to share their work and peer- assess criteria. Grade levels have been grouped together to create continuums for students to use in assessing their journal samples.  The links below will direct you to continuums for K-1, 2-3, 4-5, and 6-8.
